Break Up Songs

I just uploaded this video about how to get over somebody, and a part of that is music. I have decided to kindly share my top songs for getting over someone. You are welcome.

Get Over It by McBusted
We're kicking things off strong with this one. A straight up tune and the general gist is stop being a whingy little bitch and get over this shit. Two weeks ago I saw McBusted live and Alex Gaskarth came on stage for this song and I wasn't prepared so I kinda just silently screamed while my heart raced and tears flowed down my frozen face. That has no relevance to you getting over someone but I'm getting really emotional just thinking about that moment now and I don't want to hide things.

Key lyric: It's been so long since we broke up, it's about time I woke up, I guess I've got to let you go. GET UP GET UP GET UP GET OVER IT!

Can't Rely On You by Paloma Faith
Okay real talk if you own a pair of killer shoes then you should strut down the street to this song. It will make you feel invincible and I'm convinced people are terrified of me when I do this. Or it's all in my head. But whatever, you get results.

Key lyric: You've got that good stuff but that don't last, I just can't rely on you.

Gives You Hell by All American Rejects
This is one of my favourite revenge songs, like how in Just One Yesterday by Fall Out Boy they're all like "I'm here to give you all my love so I can watch your face as I take it all away". Except that song doesn't make it onto the list because the rest of the song is "I'd trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday" and we are not about that, my friends. ANYWAY. Yeah whatever. It's a good revenge song. Kinda just feel like listening to FOB now but you shouldn't do that. Sorry.

Key lyric: Truth be told I miss you, and truth be told I'm lying.

Ridin' Solo by Jason Derulo
I am very convinced that JD wrote this through his tears (lol jks he doesn't write his own stuff. Or does he? I really don't think I care). But pretend I didn't just tell you that and it works. It has the "I'm better without you" vibes as well as touching lightly on the perks of the single life. Thanks, Jason Derulo.

Key lyric: It's 2009, I'm riding solo, solo.

Best Thing I Never Had by Beyonce
I don't really listen to Beyonce but this one is v close to my heart bc ur girl dodged a Real Live Abuser a few years back and this tune just sums it up so well. If you mix this song with step two in my video you're in for a top notch new attitude. Remind yourself of the shit things your ex did (trust me, they weren't perfect) and lip sync this passionately into a mirror/webcam/pitch black room.

Key lyric: Thank god you blew it, thank god I dodged a bullet.

Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off by Panic at the Disco
I love this song. So much. I first heard it when I was thirteen and was so obsessed w that whole album that I received three copies for my 14th birthday. I'll still listen to it nine years later with just as much love in my heart. It's basically saying "hey ps don't forget that I'm the best you'll ever have and also bye 4eva".

Key lyric: I've got more wit, a better kiss, a hotter touch, a better fuck than any boy you'll ever meet... You know it will always just be me.

Down to exchange body heat in the passenger seat w you.

Boy by Little Mix
This one is great for when you're maybe sorta kinda starting to doubt your ability to make it on your own. You don't need them. I promise.

Key lyric: He knows you're out of his league whether he likes it or not.

And that concludes my break up song playlist. Now go party with your friends or just cry because you'll never date Brendon Urie that hurts you on a very deep level. I know which one I'm about to do. Ciao, you heartbroken dorks.
